Tire Date Code Decoder

Runs in your browser

Every tire carries the week and year it was made in the last four digits of its DOT code. Type those four digits and read the date and the age off the sidewall, with the rule quoted from NHTSA rather than paraphrased.

Reads the date only. It cannot judge whether a tire is safe.

Roof Snow Load Calculator

Runs in your browser

Snow is water with air in it, so what it weighs is what the water in it weighs. Enter the water equivalent and your roof pitch and this gives you the load in pounds per square foot, by the National Weather Service's own method, and compares it with a rating if your maker publishes one.

A rough estimate by the Weather Service's own description. It is not a structural assessment.

10.4lb per sq ft
Water equivalent2.0 inches
Flat roof load10.4 lb/ft²
At 35° pitch8.5 lb/ft²

The Weather Service's own worked example.
